I believe that food is not just fuel for the body, it is its medicine as well. Even if you go to the doctor for your once a year physical, a yoga class several times a week, and practice good sleep hygiene most nights, eating 3 times a day is the most consistent signal you send to your body, and more importantly, to your genes that control how you feel, look, and age (really!!!).
I eat a diet full of whole and unprocessed food that keeps me fueled throughout my day, but it took a lot of experimenting to get to where I am today. When I moved to England in 2011 for work, I realized I had been neglecting my health, and I made getting to the gym a priority. This started a cycle of positive change that in the years since that has led me to an incredible fitness community, a loving husband, and a career helping people live longer, with more energy and excitement about life. I’d like to share my strategies that make my life easier and the mistakes I learned from so you can get more of what you want out of life and in less time.
I will end with my favorite quote…this is what it is all about…
“When you acknowledge, as you must, that there is no such thing as perfect food, only the idea of it, then the real purpose of striving toward perfection becomes clear: to make people happy, that is what cooking is all about.”
